Fold it until
it bites.
VERMIN is a full West Coast instrument: a wavefolder into a low-pass gate, with the modulation to make both move. No subtractive filter sweep — the timbre comes from folding the wave onto itself.

The principle
Add harmonics. Then choke them.
The timbre engine
Sine, triangle and saw blend continuously, with FM on top — then a chain of asymmetric folding cells. DRIVE sets how many folds you reach; BIAS reshapes the harmonics radically.
One signal, two jobs
The low-pass gate couples loudness and brightness on a single control — percussive attack, resonant tail, and a MEMORY that remembers the last hit the way an opto-coupler would.
Then set it in motion
An LFO, an AD envelope and an eight-knob matrix push the fold, the bias, the pitch and the FM around — plus an arp and a 32-step sequencer.
The machine

Everything on one panel: oscillator, folder, gate, modulation, matrix, sequencer — and a randomizer per section for when you want to be surprised.
The voice
WAVE, FM and RATIO into DRIVE and BIAS, into DECAY, RESO and MEMORY. Six knobs of timbre, three of envelope.
The matrix
LFO and envelope, each routed to drive, bias, pitch and FM — eight bipolar knobs, no menus.
The sequencer
Up to 32 steps with slide and accent rows, loop points, directions — plus an arpeggiator with its own clock.
The dice
RND SYNTH, RND MOD, RND SEQ or RND ALL — with clear buttons and INIT when you've gone too far.

- The engine is measured: 16× oversampling around the non-linear chain, because 4× and 8× let aliasing back in at −46 dB.
- The sound is validated by ear, milestone by milestone — and that work isn't finished.
- No date: VERMIN ships when it bites right, not before.
