Story

Built by a musician,
for musicians.

Stigma Audio makes niche audio software — dreamed about for years, always awaited, finally real. One musician's workshop in Paris, building the machines he always wanted on his own desk.

That musician is Stigma — producer and DJ since 2005. He started when Ableton was still the new kid, when a laptop on stage was a statement, and he watched the audio plugin go from curiosity to instrument. Twenty years of livesets, studio nights and unfinished tools later, the machines he kept sketching in the margins are the ones on this site.

The territory is experimental electronic music: multi-trigger effects, loop morphing, generative rhythm — engines built for hands, behind hardware-style desktop interfaces you'd swear you could unscrew.

The manifesto fits on one line: the pleasure of creating — preparing a liveset, playing it live, recording the experiments. That's the whole brief, and every machine here is measured against it.

None of this is done lightly. Each plugin takes months of full-time work — building, listening, throwing away, and asking people who mix and perform for a living what actually gets in their way. What ships is what survived that.

Behind it: twenty-five years inside electronic music — hardware, mixing, production, stage. That is where a precise sense of what a tool has to do comes from: how it should sit under the hands, what it must never do in the middle of a take. It is the kind of knowledge an engineer alone does not always have, and it is why these machines feel played rather than programmed.

A release is a beginning, not an end. Every plugin is followed — fixes, updates, answers. Buying one means someone is still at the bench.

Everything is written in C++ with JUCE, and nothing on this site is vaporware: a product page only says what the code already does. What you see in the pictures is the actual panel, rendered from the running software.
